The Greg Mortimer, with its innovatively designed ice-strengthened hull, is a purpose-built small expedition vessel designed to sail to remote locations that larger vessels cannot reach.

Utilising the latest technology advances in ship design, the Greg Mortimer introduces an exciting new generation of ship for cruising in the Polar regions. At 104 metres long and carrying a maximum of 132 passengers, she offers a range of staterooms and suites with the majority featuring a balcony to enable you to enjoy the stunning vistas of Antarctica and the Arctic.

The Greg Mortimer’s state-of-the-art bow and hull, the X-BOW®, allows for a more comfortable voyage at sea along with being environmentally friendly with lower fuel consumption and air emissions. Dedicated observations areas include a 360-degree unobstructed view with a combination of outdoor platforms and observation lounge, and when cruising at slow speed, specially designed hydraulic platforms can be accessed from the lecture theatre to provide you with a unique way to observe passing sea birds and wildlife.

Aside from offering an array of additional adventurous activities including sea kayaking, camping out on Antarctic ice, snorkelling and diving in polar seas and snowshoeing, the ship carries 15 Zodiacs for the more traditional landings and excursions. With the Zodiacs being launched from sea-level platforms rather than a gangway, you’ll enjoy more and longer landings ashore. The on-board expedition leaders and crew including naturalists, photographers and historians, further enhance your experience not only on excursions but with on-board lectures held in the theatre and informal chats on the observation areas.

Facilities on-board the Greg Mortimer include the lecture theatre, two hot tubs, library, gym, and wellness centre. Meals are taken in the dining room with an open seating policy to mingle with fellow passengers, and the fully-stocked bar allows access to the magnificent views on offer in the observation lounge.
