MS Sjøveien is a classic small ship with a modern feel. With eight separate cabins providing accommodation for up to 12 passengers, this small ship is ideal for a small group charter in the Arctic.
The vessel was built in 1964 for the Norwegian government and was transformed into a passenger ship, keeping its character and historical details, in 2017. Blessed with spacious wooden decking and a large viewing area on top of the bridge, it allows the opportunity for panoramic views across the spectacular landscapes of the Arctic. There is even a wood-fired hot tub on the deck for you to enjoy when not out on a Zodiac excursion or scanning for wildlife.
Eight cabins have private facilities and only a maximum of 12 passengers on board. Each cabin has a porthole or window spread across the lower, main and upper decks. The dining area can also be found on the main deck, where all meals are served throughout any voyage. There is also a very comfortable lounge, the perfect space to sit back and relax, listening to talks and presentations from the experts on board. There is, of course, one more important thing to note, and that is that there is an open bridge policy aboard the ship.
With two Zodiacs on board, there is plenty of space to enjoy the daily excursions, whether a Zodiac cruise or a landing on shore. This is the perfect way to enjoy and explore the Arctic.
