Speyside’s coral reefs are stunning, but take some time to go hiking and birdwatching in the surrounding rainforest to try and see blue-collared motmot and collared trogon.

During the 19th century, Speyside was one of the centres of the sugar trade on the island, and reminders of this legacy can be seen throughout the village. The remnants of a large iron waterwheel that once powered a booming sugar planation can be seen on the outskirts of the village on the way to Blue Waters Inn. While staying in here it is worth visiting the nearby village of Charlotteville to enjoy its scenic location on Man-O’War Bay and experience an authentic part of the Caribbean.
