Abai Lodge is only accessed by boat from Sukau village and offers 24 simple but comfortable en suite rooms built from local timber, all inter-connected by raised board walkways.

Abai Lodge lies about 50 kilometres from Sandakan. From upstream, the boat transfer from Sukau village is around one hour. The area surrounding Abai Lodge consists of a private reserve of secondary forest, with short trails and walkways that radiate out into the jungle, where you can sit and enjoy the natural surroundings from various platforms. The lodge has a close relationship with villagers from nearby Kampong Abai, and its presence has aided the growth of ecotourism in the area.
