Dinaka is a luxurious tented camp based on an exclusive 40,000 hectare private conservancy in a prime game viewing area, hugging the northern edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
The Dinaka Conservancy provides refuge to a number of iconic desert-adapted species such as the Kalahari lion, springbok, gemsbok and brown hyena. Over 200 bird species have been recorded in the area including kori bustard, crimson-breasted shrike, a high concentration of pale chanting goshawks, and a collection of summer migrants.
The camp comprises seven raised safari tents with en suite facilities connected by a raised wooden walkway, each offering stunning views of the surrounding area and permanent waterhole. The bathrooms are equipped with an indoor and outdoor shower, flush toilet, and hot and cold water. The camp is child-friendly, with one of the tents optimised for families with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
Activities at Dinaka include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, and guided bush walks with San Bushmen, gaining a greater insight into their traditions and how they survive in this landscape. The camp is fantastic for photographers both on game drives and from the four photographic hides/bunkers positioned around active waterholes, often frequented by a host of species.
Other standout experiences include sunsets at the viewing tower and a sleep out deck, allowing guests to spend the night under the stars in the Kalahari wilderness.
