Estancia Rincon Chico is a private ranch with remarkable wildlife viewing, situated on the south-eastern coast of the Valdes Peninsula with approximately 20 kilometres of coastline along the Patagonian Sea.
Estancia Rincon Chico is a historic family-owned eco-lodge set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. Surrounded by Patagonian steppe and the Atlantic coastline, the property offers access to one of the richest marine ecosystems in the region. Wildlife regularly observed in the area includes southern right whales, orca, Commerson's and dusky dolphins, southern elephant seals, South American sea lions, Magellanic penguins, guanacos, and a wide variety of birdlife.
Accommodation is centred around a traditional estancia-style lodge inspired by late 19th-century English Patagonian homes, with wraparound verandahs, communal lounges and antique furnishings reflecting the property’s heritage. The lodge features eight guest rooms with private bathrooms, and views across either the sea or the surrounding steppe landscape. Shared spaces include a library, dining room and living areas designed for relaxing after excursions.
Experiences at the estancia focus on wildlife watching and exploration of the surrounding landscapes, through guided walking and cycling excursions along the private coastline. Depending on the season, guests may observe marine mammals directly from the shore, while the surrounding plains are home to native Patagonian wildlife often observed from the lodge itself.
