The Grant Arms Hotel occupies an imposing building in the handsome Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey, and makes an excellent base for exploring the wildlife of the Scottish Highlands.
The Grant Arms offers 50 rooms, including two with four-poster beds, one of which was stayed in by Queen Victoria on 4 September 1860. Breakfast (full Scottish available every day!) and dinner are served in the hotel’s newly refurbished restaurant. All facilities at the hotel are wheelchair-accessible. The Grant Arms takes a great interest in the area’s wildlife, and birds in particular, hosting regular events and talks and operating as the base for the Birdwatching & Wildlife Club (BWWC).
The Scottish Highlands are at their most dramatic in autumn with mist lingering in the glens and red deer stags roaring in the hills. Migrating waders and geese are heading south from their Arctic breeding grounds, while golden eagles soar over mountain tops and red grouse call on moors.
