The Macaw Lodge eco-resort offers en suite private cabins, rooms and bungalows set among lovely grounds amid the lush forests of Cerros de Turrubares. There’s an onsite restaurant and yoga studio.

Meals are created using produce grown on the farm, and these can be eaten outside, overlooking the botanical gardens. There’s a yoga studio surrounded by trees and waterfalls and flowers, and the resort is ideal for birdwatchers – with more than 300 migratory and resident species recorded in the area. All accommodations are well appointed, and have ceiling fans and private bathrooms built from local marble, solar-heated water, and bedding made from bamboo fibres.
