nThambo Tree Camp offers exclusivity and unique accommodation within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, with five chalets built on stilts and views extending to the Drakensburg mountains in the distance.
This unfenced property often has wildlife pass through camp, with a particular highlight being the elephants that regularly come to drink from the splash pool, particularly in the dry winter months, in front of the stylish bar and dining area. Guests can sit on the opposite side of the pool and watch as the behemoth mammals guzzle gallons of water just metres away, with the elevated deck creating a safe barrier. A small waterhole is positioned in view of camp where smaller species may come to drink during the heat of the day, and a rustic boma area completes the traditional bush camp experience, perfect for trading stories under the stars with other guests.
The solar-powered chalets are eye-level with the treetops and enjoy expansive views of the surrounding plains, with the raised position providing an excellent position to spot wildlife passing by from their private wooden balconies. Each en suite room has tented sides and a thatched roof, providing an authentic safari feel with contemporary furnishings.
Activities consist of morning and afternoon game drives, with the option for a bush walk after breakfast on request and if weather permits. WiFi is available in the main area to share experiences with friends and family back home.
