Nxamaseri Island Lodge prides itself on its exclusive remote location in the beautiful, wildlife-rich Okavango Delta. It offers seven double en suite chalets, each surrounded by indigenous forest and a private deck overlooking the water.
Lodge décor is handcrafted by local artisans, and features original Botswana artwork. Teak walkways connect the chalets to the main lodge, and provide opportunities to observe the fantastic birdlife. Situated on a secluded island, the lodge is the perfect location for exploring the heart of the Delta by mokoro.
The lodge’s remote location supports a plethora of birdlife, with large numbers of kingfisher, heron, stork and other waterfowl. Frequent sightings include Pel’s fishing owl, African skimmer, slaty egret, wattled crane, white-backed night heron, lesser jacana and western-banded snake eagle. A number of species have their southernmost range in the Okavango including coppery-tailed coucal, brown firefinch, Hautlaub’s babbler, swamp boubou, long-toed plover and swamp warbler. In addition, Nxamaseri boasts one of the densest concentrations of African fish-eagles in Southern Africa.
