Just a 5-minute drive from Panna National Park, the Sarai at Toria is a small, luxurious, environmentally friendly retreat. Amongst the species seen here are langur, nilgai, jackal and jungle cats.

Comprised of just eight cottages, the Sarai at Toria sits on the riverside, close to Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, in an area of natural beauty and wonderful history. Covering three hectares, the grassland and jungle of this eco-friendly retreat attracts colourful dragonflies, a host of birdlife and many mammals. The vision of a husband and wife team with a shared passion for conservation and wildlife, the lodge has been designed and built combining traditional methods and modern architecture techniques. Mainly local, natural materials were used in construction and the rustic exteriors of the cottages conceal spacious, elegantly appointed rooms, attached bathrooms, verandahs and private courtyards.

Meals are taken in a large open style, dining and lounge area, situated on the highest point of the land and offering magnificent views over the Ken River and towards the plateau of Panna National Park – the perfect spot to unwind whilst enjoying the sunset and the tranquillity.
