Providing a tranquil escape, surrounded by untouched wilderness, Senalala Safari Lodge in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve offers a fantastic wildlife experience for both first time and experienced safari goers.

Upon arrival, guests are immediately greeted by ancient trees emerging from verdant lawns with scurrying squirrels and foraging birds. The guest chalets, social seating and dining areas, all under thatch with vistas of the seasonal Ntsiri River and the lodge’s active waterhole, create an authentic ambience. The inviting atmosphere allows visitors to relax as if in their own home, with an open bar policy where you can help yourself to drinks throughout the day.

Accommodation consists of just six guest rooms across three chalet units, ensuring an intimate and personal experience with outstanding hospitality. The air-conditioned rooms are minimalist in design with twin or king-sized bed, natural soft furnishings, hairdryer, desk, en suite facilities with both bath and shower and a patio looking out towards the waterhole. Two of the rooms are inter-leading for families with children over the age of 12.

The property prides itself on exemplary guiding and aims to provide guests with an unrivalled wilderness experience. Bush walks are encouraged at Senalala to learn more about the vast intricacies of the complex ecosystems at play in the Klaserie.

Between safari activities, guests are welcome to relax either by working up a sweat in the fully equipped air-conditioned gym, reading classic bush tales in the library or revitalising around the outdoor pool on a sun lounger under a thatch umbrella. WiFi is also available for those wishing to catch up with family and friends back home. Alternatively, take a seat and monitor the waterhole with a cold beverage in hand, this water body is a hive of activity with visits from Africa’s Big Five, African wild dog and various plains game that follow the game path along the river.

Traditional homemade meals, prepared with fresh ingredients, are either served al fresco or within the enclosed air-conditioned, wine-themed dining area when the days are either too hot or for when there is a wintery chill in the air. Mealtimes are often a social occasion, with guests invited to gather around a large table to break bread with one another and trade stories of their day, followed by a drink or two around the campfire conversing and listening to the sounds of the South African wilderness.

Senalala can also accommodate up to 16 guests for exclusive-use bookings, perfect for friends, families and special events. There are no age restrictions when the lodge is booked exclusively.
