Located in the 75,000 hectare Madikwe Game Reserve, Thakadu River Camp provides 12 luxurious tented suites, each boasting a viewing deck overlooking the Marico River.
The main lodge has been carefully constructed from local materials, blending it sympathetically into its surroundings and affording fabulous views of the bushveld habitat. Delicious food is served in the dining room or outdoor boma, and there's a swimming pool and lounge decking area for relaxing between drives. The entire lodge also welcomes families.
Led by an expert local naturalist this pioneering 13-day trip offers a chance to see some of South Africa’s most elusive mammals and sought after birds, alongside iconic predators and megafauna. Madikwe Game Reserve, located along the border with Botswana, is made up of vast plains of open woodland and grasslands, ideal for the abundant wildlife.
