Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse and converted in 1990 to a boutique-style hotel, the Victoria & Alfred Hotel is named in honour of the former Queen of England and her son.
Prince Alfred visited the Cape in 1870 and officially opened the Breakwater basin, today’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, where the hotel is located.
The hotel comprises 94 large, air-conditioned rooms, superbly furnished and designed for comfort. Each room features en suite facilities with a full-size bath and standalone shower, a fully stocked refreshment centre, flat screen television, DVD player, hairdryer and trouser press, along with complimentary WiFi. Guests can enjoy views of Table Mountain and the city, or the vibrant working harbour and Table Bay.
Facilities include a designer spa with treatment rooms and state-of-the-art gym facilities. Guests have access to the pool area set within the landscaped garden at the Dock House Boutique Hotel, as well as its pool bar. Dining options include alfresco meals at OYO Restaurant or Dash Restaurant.
Additional services include secure parking, a full concierge service, foreign exchange facilities, and laundry, dry-cleaning and valet services. In-room amenities include complimentary filter coffee, herbal teas and biscuits, as well as a welcome beverage on arrival. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service.
