With two full days in Santiago, you have plenty of time to explore this iconic city. A guided half-day tour provides an introduction to the history, architecture and distinctive neighbourhoods of this bustling city, while the rest of your time is free to explore at your own pace. Browse museums and galleries, relax in parks and plazas, or enjoy the city's restaurants and cafés.

Typical Extension Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Santiago

    Today, you arrive in Santiago, which is backdropped by the spectacular Andes Mountains. After transferring to your hotel, the remainder of the day is free to spend as you wish.

  2. Day 2: Full-day Santiago City Tour

    This morning, your exploration of Santiago begins with a half-day city tour. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you can learn about the history and culture of this lively city as you visit some of its most iconic sites, including the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Alameda and La Moneda, climb Cerro Santa Lucía for a panoramic view of the city, and explore some of the vibrant neighbourhoods of Santiago.

    After a morning of exploration, the afternoon is free to spend as you wish.

  3. Day 3: Free Day to Explore Santiago & the Surrounding Area

    Today's free for you to discover more of Santiago at your own pace and offers a chance to explore locations that perhaps weren’t visited yesterday.

    For those who would like to, there's also the chance to join an optional guided tour to the coastal cities of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar with their colourful houses sprawled over coastal hills, or venture into the lush vineyards of the Maipo Valley for a wine tasting experience. 

  4. Day 4: Depart Santiago

    After enjoying a final breakfast at your hotel, it’s time to depart Santiago and continue your onward travel arrangements.
