Tom Proença

Born in the town of Poconé, the gateway to the Northern Pantanal in Brazil, Tom has worked as a full-time naturalist guide since 2011.

He has enjoyed showing international guests the incredible wonders of Brazil's wildlife, and has guided many special interest groups including dedicated photography and birding tours. Tom is now in his final year of university studying biology and has built up a deep knowledge of Pantanal’s wildlife over his lifetime. With an easygoing, friendly, and charming personality that contrasts with his serious interest in all wildlife and dedication to helping others to see as much as possible, he is the perfect travelling companion.
