Explore Indonesia’s island-studded seas aboard Katharina, a traditional wooden Phinisi. From the vessel, snorkel coral reefs, visit remote villages and relax on deck between marine encounters.
Katharina is a beautifully crafted traditional Indonesian Phinisi sailing vessel. Built in 1995 in Kalimantan with a slim hull originally intended for commercial freight, she was carefully refitted in 2014 to preserve the authenticity of classic Indonesian shipbuilding while providing comfortable modern cruising amenities. At approximately 38 metres long, Katharina accommodates up to 12 guests in six en suite cabins, creating an intimate and personal atmosphere.
Life on board is relaxed and sociable, with well-appointed spaces including a salon, bar, two sun decks for lounging, and an outdoor dining area perfect for enjoying meals under the stars, or watching the changing scenery as you sail. Guests can make use of a range of equipment such as kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkelling gear, and the experienced Indonesian crew are attentive and knowledgeable about the region’s remote anchorages and cruising conditions.
Katharina serves as a platform to explore the spectacular islands of eastern Indonesia, from the coral gardens and wildlife-rich seas around Komodo and Raja Ampat, to hidden bays and quiet villages rarely reached by others. Sailings combine culture, nature and adventure, from snorkelling vibrant reefs to hiking volcanic slopes.
