Situated on the private Imbali Concession, Imbali Safari Lodge benefits from an exclusive 10,000 hectare traverse shared with its sister properties, Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge and Hamiltons Tented Camp.
Set on the banks of the seasonal N’waswitsontso River within Kruger National Park, Imbali Safari Lodge was built in the style of a traditional bushveld lodge with an emphasis on causing as little impact as possible on the natural surroundings. To achieve this feat, many of the large jackalberry trees were incorporated into the build, and now grow within the property, providing a truly immersive experience. The main deck overlooks a waterhole that's often frequented by a plethora of species, and can be viewed from the refreshing infinity pool.
12 spacious air-conditioned suites are decorated in subtle neutral tones with touches of captivating African tradition, from ornate rugs and wall lamps to comfortable textured furnishings. The rooms invite the outside in, with large French doors opening out onto an expansive deck with sun loungers and a private plunge pool, looking out over the dry riverbed or savannah grasslands. Guests can relax with a midday siesta on the comfortable king-sized bed, or make use of the complimentary minibar and enjoy a drink looking out over the surrounding bush. The en suite bathrooms are comprised of marble and stone with Victorian style bathtubs and walk-in shower, providing a space for safari decadence.
An impressive 100-year-old jackalberry grows through the deck of the dining room, where delectable meals are served after being loving curated by the talented chef. Weather permitting, dinners on Tuesdays and Fridays are hosted by your guide in the boma under the magnificent African sky, bursting with dazzling stars.
Activities consist of morning and afternoon game drives in open vehicles exploring the vast Imbali Concession, optional bush walks (if booked in advance for an additional cost) and massage treatments either in guest rooms or on their private deck (at an additional cost). Between or in replacement of safaris, guests staying at Imbali Safari Lodge are welcome to take their own vehicle or hire car into the Kruger National Park for a self-drive safari if they wish before returning for the afternoon game drive or in the evening when the park closes to visitors.
