Positioned in the north-east of the Okavango Delta on the private Shinde Concession, Shinde Footsteps is a prime example of barefoot luxury and exclusivity in a fantastic game viewing area.
This timeless and intimate camp consists of just four tents, one of which is a family tent with two bedrooms and shared bathroom, however only six guests are accommodated at any time to ensure an exclusive wilderness experience.
The canvas tents are simple yet stylish, each featuring a private deck, en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower, porcelain wash basin, and complimentary WiFi.
The main area consists of an open tented lounge and separate dining tent, along with a small fire pit, all overlooking a permanent hippo-filled lagoon. Tucked away behind the dining tent is a decked pool area which also enjoys views of the same water body.
To the back of the lounge, a canvas photo editing suite provides a dark and quiet space to browse and edit photographs. The suite is kitted out with desks, chairs, charging ports, storage cabinets and a large screen TV for viewing photos.
Daily activities at Shinde Footsteps are varied with a balanced mix of both water and land-based options, allowing for an authentic Okavango Delta experience. Whilst daytime game drives are often the main activity, the camp also offers mokoro excursions when water levels permit, night drives after dinner to search for nocturnal species, and walking safaris to discover the intricacies of the environment.
Guests staying at both Shinde Footsteps and sister property, Shinde Camp, have the option to walk between the two on transfer day as bags are transported by vehicle.
