Step back in time and experience bygone moments of Africa as it used to be at this nostalgic bush camp in South Luangwa National Park, where natural springs attract a plethora of passing wildlife.
From Zungulila's remote position overlooking a wide bend in the Kapamba River and the Muchinga Escarpment, relax on its sunken deck and enjoy eye level wildlife encounters that will stay with you forever. Charging stations may be found (complete with UK plug sockets) in the communal lounge, bar and dining area, tap water is from a borehole and is safe to drink, and a complimentary laundry service is also offered.
Just four classic en suite Meru-style tents provide spacious accommodation complete with mosquito net, fan, outside shower, toiletries, and the pièce de résistance, an enormous external bath tub. This is perhaps the ultimate indulgence as you lay back, listen to birdsong, and take in surrounding wildlife!
Zungulila is open from April to January, and welcomes children aged 12 years and over. There's no WiFi or cellphone signal to distract you from the wonders of the bush, offering the ultimate escape in an untouched corner of the park. Walks are the focus here, but vehicle safaris can help you explore further afield. The camp is around 3.5 hours from the park entrance gate, and a stay here can easily be combined with its sister properties Kapamba, Bilimungwe, Chindeni, Chamilandu or Kuyunda.
