This unique tour offers a chance to explore the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi in search of fennec foxes and other desert wildlife, offering dedicated photography sessions with an award-winning wildlife photographer.
Set against the dramatic golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Morocco, this specialist photography tour aims to find and photograph one of the Sahara’s most captivating inhabitants: the fennec fox. Our time in the field is carefully planned to give us the best possible chances of encountering this fantastic Saharan canid, and by travelling into the dunes during the cooler, softer light of early morning and late afternoon, we aim to be in prime position for both wildlife and photography.
Accompanied throughout by an expert photographic guide, we enjoy practical tuition and advice on composition, camera settings and making the most of the unique desert light. Away from our dedicated fennec fox photography sessions, we explore a wider range of habitats on specialist safaris, looking for some of Morocco’s fascinating wildlife. Encounters could include horned and sand vipers, desert monitor lizard, North African spiny-tailed lizard, agamas and sandfish skink.
Nocturnal photography sessions provide opportunities to search for desert mammals such as Egyptian jerboas and gerbils, while migrating birds crossing the Sahara add to the surprising variety of photographic subjects.
