The small island of Bartolomé is made up of an extinct volcano and is home to the distinctive Pinnacle Rock. Wildlife includes a colony of Galapagos penguins.

The Pinnacle Rock, a huge volcanic cone, is the island’s most famous landmark. There are trails leading to the summit of the island, where you can experience some of the finest views in the Galapagos Islands, including the black lava flows on nearby James Island.

The beach is ideal for snorkelling, and you may be sharing the water with sea lions, colourful fish and Galapagos penguins. The southern beach offers possible sightings of black-tipped and white-tipped sharks, as well as spotted eagle rays.
