Things to see in Tanzania: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
This huge volcanic crater is one of the most dramatic settings on the entire continent. It encloses the largest concentration of plains game in Africa some 30,000 animals and the balance between predator and prey is so precise that animals seldom leave. Its swamps, forests and huge soda lake attract thousands of flamingos and other waterfowl.
The crater's popularity and convenient location on the Northern Circuit mean you won't be alone, but you can still escape the crowds and the guaranteed sightings far outweigh any negatives!
