7 Wildlife Holiday Recommendations for 2027

Since we began in 1992, we’ve created thousands of small group and tailor-made wildlife holidays for our clients to enjoy. Demand for next year is increasing, so in this blog, we’ve picked a few of our most highly rated group tours for you to consider for your next wildlife holiday in 2027.

Ultimate Tiger Safari

This tour is designed to maximise your chances of seeing Bengal tigers while staying at two of India's finest eco-lodges located in the quieter national parks of Pench and Bori. Pench is widely believed to have inspired Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, while Bori is one of India's quietest wildlife reserves. Both offer excellent chances of encountering tiger, alongside other predators including leopard and wild dog, with prey species such as gaur, chital and sambar deer all prevalent.

Tiger in Satpura National Park, India. "With several of Pench's key female tigresses pregnant and likely to be with cubs in 2027, next year promises to be a bumper year for tiger sightings, while Bori Wildlife Sanctuary continues to offer arguably the most exclusive tiger viewing opportunities in Central India. With two exceptional lodges, this tour is an excellent option for those seeking encounters with the world's largest cat." Dan Free, General Manager - June 2026

Borneo's Orangutans

During the dry season, Borneo's trails are easier to navigate, and its tropical climate is temperate and comfortable. During this time, orangutans are often more active and visible as they forage for seasonal fruit in the trees. On this specially designed small group tour, we visit the best locations to encounter these magnificent, endangered apes, including the renowned Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, the wildlife-rich Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, the dramatic Gomantong Caves and the pristine rainforests of the Danum Valley.

Orangutan in Borneo "The way the itinerary was formulated meant we benefitted from differing environments as the trip progressed and, in our opinion, left the best until last. It was difficult to choose between the obvious excitement of seeing orangutans, both in the sanctuary at Sepilok and in the wild, close-up encounters with gibbons, and seeing the diminutive pygmy squirrels and our first porcupine." Wildlife of the Lot Valley

From cliff-top villages and flower-strewn meadows to sun-drenched vineyards, this gentle exploration of the Lot Valley offers a rich taste of rural France. Timed for peak spring activity, this tour blends warm hospitality with rewarding encounters, from golden orioles, hoopoes, short-toed eagles and honey buzzards to mazarine blues, spotted fritillary and map butterflies. There's an abundance of wildlife and culture to enjoy on this leisurely tour.

The tour was a mixture of the wildlife and culture of the Lot Valley, with visits to various areas for butterflies, insects, reptiles and orchids. The hotel was superb, with comfortable rooms and fabulous food. It was a joy to come back to after a day in the field." Lesley C. Wildlife of the Lot Valley - May 2025

Best of Botswana

This small group safari offers the chance to see a fabulous variety of iconic African wildlife. When it comes to quality and quantity, Botswana is hard to beat! Here, staying in fully-serviced mobile camping offers the most immersive experience, with lion, leopard, cheetah and African wild dog all very realistic prospects, alongside great herds of elephant, buffalo and red lechwe.

Wild dog pair in Botswana "Our holiday was superb from start to finish. We had a huge number of outstanding sightings. Seeing leopard and wild dog, as well as lion vs crocodile interactions on kills, was fantastic. We saw over 40 lions, including a pride of 16 on our last game drive, along with brilliant sightings of leopards, cheetahs and two different packs of wild dogs." Mark S. Best of Botswana - Oct 2025

Isle of Mull Wildlife Extravaganza

Led by popular tour leaders Mike Dilger and Alexa Kershaw, this small group holiday offers an exceptional introduction to the Isle of Mull's iconic wildlife. While staying at Killichronan House on Loch Na Keal, we visit the beautiful island of Mull and enjoy wildlife highlights including close encounters with otters and dolphins, puffins, white-tailed and golden eagles, hen harrier, short-eared owl and, with luck, minke whale.

We had an all-weather, fun experience. Seeing hen harrier, white-tailed eagle, redpoll and great skua. Being guided so well enhanced our learning about the island and its wildlife." Shirley G. Wildlife of Pantanal

Our most popular small group trip to the Pantanal, this 12-day holiday focuses exclusively on the North Pantanal. Combining two eco-lodges with an excellent houseboat, we explore the heart of the most productive area of the Pantanal for viewing jaguars and giant river otters. Amongst many possible highlights, we can also hope to see ocelot, South American coati, marsh deer, crab-eating fox, three species of primate and some incredible birdlife.

Jaguar in the Pantanal, Brazil "We had an amazing time in the Pantanal and loved every part of the trip. From the well-planned itinerary and comfortable lodges to the delicious and plentiful food. Our guide, Lucy, was exceptional – extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife of the Pantanal. Travelling with other people who shared our passion for wildlife and travel added to the enjoyment of the trip." Anne D. Wildlife of the Pantanal - Aug 2025
